My nephew and I did a 55-day road trip across Canada this summer, from Vancouver Island all the way to St. John’s, Newfoundland and back to Vancouver. We ate just about everything you can think of—fancy spots, not-so-fancy spots—and rated all of it: food, hotels, activities, you name it. For food, we looked at service, taste, drinks, and dessert. Tom’s Lobster Shack was the overall winner. Everything was AWESOME!! So glad our friends told us about this place!
I came back to Peggy’s cove just to try their lobster roll and it was worth it. The truffle lobster roll was so flavourful and perfectly seasoned. It was overflowing with lobster and not overpowered by mayo. It’s pricey, but a nice treat.
Absolutely delicious! I’ve tried a number of lobster rolls and their Cajun lobster roll has easily made it in into my top 3 best rolls I’ve ever tasted. The classic roll is also delicious however because I like just a bit more spice, the Cajun roll was perfection! Their smoked meat sandwich is just as tasty as the rest of the menu. Would highly recommend stopping here for a bite to eat if you’re in the area.
Went here at the end of April just as they opened up for the season. It was my first time having a lobster roll and I’m still dreaming of it. They are incredibly generous with the amount of lobster given on the rolls for the price (I’ve seen rolls with half the lobster for more money) and they were delicious. Service was fast, friendly and the views are incredible! I did visit before tourist season really kicks off though, which I think is the perfect time to visit.
Lots of lobster in the rolls; you get so much lobster in each bite. $31/roll which is actually decent as other places in the city charges $34. Comes with chips and two pickles. A must try when you’re at Peggy’s cove.
Fresh, delicious lobster rolls with generous portions and great flavor. The bread is perfectly toasted, and the lobster is tender and well-seasoned. Friendly service and a casual spot that’s perfect for a quick seafood bite while exploring Halifax. Definitely worth trying if you’re a lobster lover.
Arguably the best lobster rolls I’ve had. If you can, go by 11:30am as there’s no lines for it until around 12. They also only have outdoor seating so be aware if the weather isn’t the greatest.
I’m not a huge fan of the mayo based lobster rolls. The idea of eating one was not a priority since l was still full from the previous evening’s supper. But, we opted to try the truffle roll as ‘a must go’ recommended place to stop at Peggy’s Cove. Hands down this was a winning decision!! The roll cost around $30 and worth every penny, fully LOADED with mounds of lobster meat. The truffle flavour was not over powering adding just enough zest. Without the mayo base, one could enjoy the natural lobster (IMO). This roll had flavour on top of flavour! Sitting on the deck enjoying a lobster roll surrounded by the Nova Scotia highlight views was truly a highlight of my trip!
